Why You Should Advertise Your Brand At Airports

One of the busiest locations in any country around the world is the airport. Millions of people travel through airports on an annual basis. They get used by people going on vacation. You will find business professionals and even the occasional plane spotter using airports too!

Given the huge volumes of people that travel through them each day, airports are a great place to advertise a brand. To some company bosses, airport advertising might seem like an unnecessary expense. But others are wising up to the benefits that airport advertising brings.

Here are some of the reasons why more companies are advertising their brand at airports.

Airports have high foot traffic

As I mentioned a moment ago, airports have large volumes of people travelling through them each year. For instance, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport is the busiest in the world. It had  over 38 million passengers travelling through it last year.

The link between offline and online advertising

If you want to promote your brand to a global audience, your first thought might be to set up a website. Advertising at airports is a way of combining offline advertising with the Internet.

You might be wondering why this is so. As passengers walk through terminal buildings, they memorise ads relevant to their lives. They can then go online and research your brand, with many buying its products and services as a result.

Target audience

Airports are a great way to target a specific audience. Let’s say that you manufacture laptop computers. Your ads can get targeted to business travelers that want to use laptops with long battery lives.

Of course, brands and physical products aren’t just the only things that you can advertise in an airport! Given that people use them for international travel, airports can promote foreign countries.

As you go through airport terminals, you’ll see some eye-catching banners advertising vacations abroad. Don’t blame me if you spot banners advertising vacations to Australia, for instance!

Advertising locations

Airport terminals are big buildings. As such, they provide plenty of advertising opportunities. Some examples of advertising locations include:

  • Luggage trolleys;

  • Customs areas;

  • Duty-free areas;

  • Departure and arrivals halls;

  • Parking lots;

  • Baggage conveyors;

  • Elevators.

As you can see from the list above, you have your pick of advertising locations!

Plenty of advertising mediums

Take a look at the featured image of this blog post for a rental car company. It’s rather eye-catching, don’t you think? In such a busy location as an airport, it is important that you grab people’s attention.

There are plenty of advertising mediums that you can use in airports. That is, apart from standard banners and billboards.

Advertisers can even pay for huge wall-sized interactive ads. They grab people’s attention from afar and are quite memorable.

Proven results

Advertising in airports are great for targeting specific audiences. There is plenty of online research to prove how effective a location airports are.
