3 Things Your New Office Must Have

Moving to a new office is incredibly exciting, especially when it’s because your business has grown. While you might think that you know everything that your office needs, there are sure to be some things that you haven’t thought of.

You see, there is a big difference between small and large office spaces and what you will need for them. The reason for this is that when you move to a larger office space, this tends to mean that you have more employees to accommodate.

While increasing the amount of employees you have is a good thing, your new office will need things that your old office didn’t.

To help you ensure that your new building has everything you need, we have created a guide to the most important things you will need.

1. Shredder

As your business expands, you will have more and more paperwork coming into the office. Many of the documents you receive will be sensitive, so it’s important that you have the equipment you need to dispose of them.

As a small business, you probably remained under the radar of many data thieves. However, now you are expanding that will change. You have two options in terms of safely disposing of your documents. You can invest in a commercial paper shredder, or you can hire an outside company to deal with it for you. Whatever option you choose is up to you, but just remember that all sensitive documents should be shredded.

2. An intercom system

At your previous office, you probably had a single door that you had to open if anyone wanted to come in. However, most larger offices have various entrances, so it’s easier for intruders to gain access. That’s why it’s so important that you have the safeguards in place to ensure your office building remains safe.

The best way to prevent unwanted visitors from entering your building is by ensuring that to enter, you have to press a button. This might seem a little irritating, but when it comes to office security, you can’t be too careful.

If you want to find out more about getting an intercom system, get in touch with a commercial voice electricians company. They should be able to tell you everything you need to know about what having an intercom installed entails.

3. A reception area

Unless you want visitors to come straight into your office, it’s a good idea that your new building has a reception area. If there isn’t an area already in place, there is nothing stopping you from creating your own modular kiosk reception area where guests can wait to see you.

Your reception area should not only have a reception desk, receptionist and chairs for waiting on. It should also have literature for visitors to read, as well as a coffee or water machine. It’s important that your visitors feel comfortable while they wait, so ensure your reception is welcoming.

Moving to a new office is an exciting prospect. However, it also comes with many responsibilities. These include knowing the most important things your new building will need.
